I heart MyUS and US Unlocked

Mr. DHL made my day a lot better by calling me up early this morning to tell me he'd stop by later on to deliver a package for me. It wasn't that exciting as I hadn't gone completely overboard this time. It contained my M·A·C Jeanius haul + both blushes in "Overdyed" (bright magenta) and "Pink Cult" (midtone dirty neutral pink), the M·A·C Pink Power MSF from Wonder Woman, M·A·C Gotta Dash! (pale clean coral) from Sheen Supreme, some bottles of PocketBac® and a few drugstore items.

I recently found out that I could order from Drugstore, something I've been wanting to do for a long time, so I ordered the items listed below. It's quite weird that we have most of these brands in Norway, but not these particular products - at least not as I know of, and several of the items on my list are highly praised among my fellow American makeup addicts. I paid a total of $40 or about 217,- NOK with today's exchange rate.

  • Maybelline Great Lash Clear Mascara for Lash and Brow
  • L'Oreal HIP Bright Duos Shadow in "224 Showy"
  • L'Oreal HIP Color Rich Cream Eyeliner in "945 Teal"
  • L'Oreal Lineur Intense Felt Tip Eyeliner in "960 Carbon Black"
  • Chapstick Classic Lip Balm SPF 4 in "Cherry" and "Spearmint"
  • Chapstick Medicated Skin Protectant/External Analgesic Lip Balm
  • Nivea Lip Care in "Milk & Honey" and "A Kiss of Shimmer"

There won't be a lot of hauling to read about for a while now, I need so save up for our upcoming trip to Paris. I have to have at least a little money to spend in Sephora (where I can use my black membership card), M·A·C, Galeries Lafayette and wherever else I feel the need to splurge a little. Wink

M·A·C Jeanius

MAC Jeanius: Stovepipe BlackM·A·C is constantly releasing new collections, as we all know, and even though I'm usually all over them, or at least most of them, M·A·C Jeanius totally failed to lure me in.

To be completely honest I was planning to buy all four eyeshadows in this collection, due to their incredibly cool denim pattern. It's no secret that I'm a big jeans lover, I mean.. I have a closet full. Unfortunately the brass button is just the regular spray-on and will go away after swiping it. Even though these shadows look cool, the colors weren't all that special - or rather special enough to add them to my vast collection of eyeshadow - so I decided to skip them all. Well, all but Stovepipe Black, the one shade I thought looked unique enough to justice it.

In addition to the one eyeshadow, I ordered the two nail polishes Frayed to Order and Biker Blue. I know most of the nail polish gurus out there don't think much of M·A·C's nail polishes, but sometimes M·A·C releases some colors that are irresistible - just like these two. Temptalia has some really nice swatches of them both here and here. Grin

As usual after having ordered the items I want from a specific M·A·C collection, I started lemming one last item.. just one more.. I'm sure you know what I mean, so when I suddenly discovered that the Pink Power Mineralized Skin Finish from M·A·C Wonder Woman was back in stock I decided to order it and thereby complete my WW haul. Yet another super-sized item! A regular MSF is 10 grams (0.35 US oz), and Pink Power is 20 grams (0.70 US oz). The main reason why I like this MSF so much is that it's made up of three individual colors: a highlight, a blush and a contour/bronzer, which makes it a bit different than the regular MSF's. I decided on Pink Power as opposed to Golden Lariat, since the latter was too orange for my liking. I might fall in between the two with my medium skin tone, but I'm quite sure that Pink Power will suit me the best. Once again, Temptalia has swatches here.

Missing: Mr. DHL!

For the very first time since I started using DHL I'm not very impressed with them as a courier. I mean, I still like them a lot in general, and the regular delivery guy is flat out awesome - but on Tuesday Mr. DHL apparently came to deliver a package for me, and apparently I wasn't at home to sign for it. He was supposedly here at 12:20 PM, and when I called DHL to ask what the heck, she told me he'd left a note. Well, I was at home the whole day, and there was no phone call, no note and certainly no attempted delivery. Of course there was no harm done, I collected the package myself, but things like this pisses me off.

Anyway. I went to DHL myself to pick up my shipment, and it contained a collective haul from Urban Decay and M·A·C, in addition to a few gifts for a dear friend. It held my items from M·A·C Wonder Woman, the new Viva Glam Gaga II lipstick and matching lipglass, M·A·C & Nicki Minaj Pink Friday lipstick, a 217 Blending Brush, a 24/7 Shadow Pencil Blending Brush and the three new Feminine, Dangerous, Fun™ palettes from Urban Decay. I know I said I wouldn't buy any more Urban Decay palettes until they stopped launching the same colors over and over again, but you know.. I could.. not.. resist.. them.

MAC Wonder Woman Haul

I also picked up another package that arrived while I was in Kiel, and inside I found a signed copy of Kat Von D's "The Tattoo Chronicles". Such a gorgeous book! Unfortunately I cannot brag about knowing Kat Von D personally or even having met her, but I coincidentally saw a tweet from High Voltage Tattoo saying that a few signed copies of her book was available in their online store - and so I decided to order the book. I do not regret my purchase!

I'm still expecting Mr. Postman to stop by, and I hope he'll do so soon. I ended up ordering a straightening iron from FeelUnique, which I think has stopped for a vacation in Oslo - or so it might seem, and a padded envelope from Benefit Cosmetics. Exciting! Grin

M·A·C Wonder Woman

MAC Wonder Woman 2011Don't you just love it when you suddenly remember that you actually have money you had forgotten all about? I do. For I suddenly remembered that I had actually put away some money so I could do some shopping when M·A·C launched their newest collection Wonder Woman a couple of days ago, and I was very happy to see that nothing had sold out by the time I got around to ordering. I didn't get much though. I wanted all three palettes, but since most reviews seemed to be bad in one way or another, I ended up getting only Valiant of the three - and I'll be happy to admit that I decided on Valiant solely because of the look Temptalia did. I'm sure all four of these colors are dupable, but think the packaging is kinda cool.

In addition to the Valiant quad I also ended up getting Russian Red (intense blueish red) lipstick, Wonder Woman (bright red with soft pearl) Lipglass and Mighty Aphrodite Blush Duo. Funny thing is that M·A·C super-sized the Wonder Woman Lipglass, so it's a stunning 10 grams (or 0.37 US oz) as opposed to the regular 4.8 grams (or .17 US oz). A bit over the top if you ask me, but the color looks absolutely stunning. I decided to order Russian Red, despite of it being blueish red, since Temptalia wore it beautifully and says that it looks stunning on light to dark, cool to warm. Jo is also sporting it here topped with Wonder Woman, and I love these red lips on her. I'm well aware of the fact that I cannot use blueish reds with my warm skin tone, but I'm taking my chances with this one. Temptalia also says that it looks orange-based when she wears it, and judging by her picture I agree. Crossing my fingers! Russian Red is a permanent lipstick, but I wanted the Wonder Woman edition.

Looking forward to receiving a visit from Mr. Postman DHL!
