MAC Apple Red and Burnt Pepper Blush

I aller høyeste grad.

MAC Temperature Rising

MAC Ripe for Love Powder Blush

MAC Ripe for Love Powder Blush

EOTD: Burlesque Dancing under the Moon

Click photo for a close up!

In early April I purchased a few eyeshadows from Makeup Geek, planning to try them out and see whether or not they are as good as people say they are. It took me a while to get around to playing with them, and boy did they surprise me! These are really nice eyeshadows, soft and easy to work with, really easy to blend. I did experience a little fallout, mostly with «Galaxy», but I'm so pleased with the outcome that I'm willing ignore that.

Products

→ MUS Eyeprimer Clear
→ MUG White Lies (highlight: brow)
→ MUG Moondust (entire lid)
→ MUG Burlesque (crease)
→ MUG Galaxy (outer corner)
→ Avon SuperShock Gel Eyeliner in «Black» (tightline)
→ MUS Eyepencil in «Seduced by the Night» (waterline)
→ L'Oréal Paris Lash Architect 4D in «Black Lacquer»
→ M·A·C Veluxe Brow Liner in «Brunette»

Brushes

→ M·A·C 239 Eye Shader Brush
→ Sonia Kashuk Blending Brush
→ Essence of Beauty Crease Brush Duo

Walkthrough

Needless to say, I started out by priming my eyelids with my trusted MUS primer. It never fails me. With the 239 brush I patted Moondust all over the lid and up to the crease, leaving a little room for another color in the outer corner. I used my blending brush to place Burlesque in the crease, blending as I went along. Lastly I placed a little bit of Galaxy in the outer corner using the smallest of the two brushes from Essence of Beauty, blending it slightly into the crease, just to give the look a little dimension. With the larger one I used a little bit of White Lies as highlight just below the highest point of the brow.

I tried using MUS Seduced by the Night on the waterline, but it didn't really work as well as I had planned. I tightlined with my favorite black eyeliner pencil to make my lashes appear a little denser, and finished off with a coat or two of my chosen mascara. I chose my Veluxe Brow Liner today, but I think it looks a bit too warm, and might not be using it again - it's a fabulous pencil, but the color isn't a very good match (much more apparent in daylight).

EOTD: Tuched by an Angel

EOTD: Tuched by an Angel

Ever since I started hangin' at the forum for makeup addicts I've been playing around with my makeup a lot more. I don't know why really, maybe because I practically feel a surge of inspiration coming through my computer screen every time I log on? I love chatting with all my fellow makeup addicts, because.. they understand and share the fascination, the joy, the excitement for the tiniest little makeup related thing. Anyway, I wore this look last Thursday when I went out to meet two of the magnificent girls, Tone and Renate. I'm quite pleased with the outcome, and this might have been my gateway to an even smokier and darker look. A little scary, but oh so fun!

Products

→ MUS Eye Primer in Clear
→ M·A·C Femme Fi (highlight: brow bone, inner tear duct)
→ MUS Tuch (entire lid)
→ Avon SuperShock Gel Eyeliner in «Black» (tightline)
→ MUS Eyepencil in «Snowflake» (waterline)
→ Max Factor Xperience Volumizing Mascara
→ Anastasia Brow Wiz in «Brunette»
→ M·A·C 239 Eye Shader Brush
→ MUS 114 Soft Touch Brush
→ Real Techniques Deluxe Crease Brush
→ Sigma® Performance E21 Smudge Brush

Walkthrough

I always start by filling in my eyebrows, and this time I chose Anastasia Brow Wiz in «Brunette». Nowadays I alternate between the product mentioned above, and an angled brush used with M·A·C Brun eyeshadow. I then primed my eyelids with my trustworhty primer from Make Up Store, and used the MUS 114 to pat MUS Tuch on both lids - taking care to blend it into the crease and a little upwards. When I felt pleased with the shape and blending I used my M·A·C 239 to pack some more color on the lid to make the color a little denser. Sigma® Performance E21 is the perfect brush to highlight the highest point of the brow with my favorite M·A·C Femme Fi, and also the inner corner of the eye. To make my lashes appear a little denser I used my Avon SuperShock Gel Eyeliner to tightline, a useful trick when you don't feel confident enough to draw on that perfect eyeliner. MUS Snowflake is perfect to brighten up the waterline, even though I think a less stark white would have suited me better. I finished off the look with one coat of Max Factor Xperience Volumizing Mascara, another favorite drugstore pick.

I found this look a little bit intimidating at first, it's the darkest smoky eye I've tried out and I was a little scared I had gone overboard with the whole idea. Within minutes it had grown on me, and I ended up really liking it! Unfortunately the photo didn't turn out perfect, it's a little blurry and the color didn't show up quite as dark as it looked in person.
