Make Up Store BonBon

I went to Make Up Store today to check out their new Holiday 2012 collection BonBon, a collection said to be inspired by Katy Perry's song «California Gurlz», cupcakes, macaroons and colorful pastries - created by the talented Linda Hallberg. When I first saw the collection I was drawn in by the names, they sounded delicious! I then became a little hesitant.. I don't know, I thought it boring maybe? It's anything but your typical holiday collection, but then, when bloggers started posting swatches of the products, I swallowed it. Hook, line and sinker. I knew I needed to see BonBon with my own eyes, even though I also knew it would lead to the inevitable small splurge. Who am I kidding? Oh well, so worth it! And I got to spend some time with Maria too, which is always a pleasure.

I managed to constrain myself from purchasing the whole collection, although I did end up with a total of five products. First things first, I wanted to check out the three eyeshadows in this collection; Pistachio Biscotti, Cinnamon Bread and Cupcake, and even though I originally had my mind set on the beautiful green Pistachio Biscotti, I ended up with all three of them. We all know how much I love my Velvet, so when I saw the two other shades I didn't have to go back and forth for very long before deciding. Since I'm not very comfortable with loose shadows I ended up skipping the Eyedust in this collection, although the color was gorgeous. I hope this will change, so I can justify getting a few more of them.

The next item I just knew I had to get was the gorgeous red lipstick appropriately named Cherry Pie. This lipstick was actually on the very top of my wish list. Its finish is 'sparkle', and I can't even begin to describe this color. It's gorgeous. Go check it out for yourself. Now. It immediately made me think of Snow White, a sexy interpretation of her, like Ginnifer Goodwin in «Once Upon a Time». My fave!

And the last obvious item was of course the new pencil called Chocolate Cheesecake, an insanely beautiful metallic dark chocolate brown. HELLO! The name itself makes my mouth watery. In the promo pictures this was shown as one of those pencils I really don't like much, but when the collection launched it turned out to be one of my very favorite pencils, the ones with the long color indicator (see the end of this post). I snagged the last one in stock, and boy, did that make me happy!
