Jeffrey Campbell Evita

Jeffrey Campbell Evita

These babies may or may not have been in my online shopping cart recently. I'm sure all of you are familiar for the infamous Jeffrey Campbell Lita Spikes? I not going to say I haven't been drooling over them myself, but I'm not really known for choosing the same as everyone else. I decided I didn't want the Lita Spikes, and I suddenly saw the Evitas. These are in matte black leather, and they have a zipper on the inside - which makes it way easier for me to put on. I don't want anymore useless booties in my closet, so I don't buy them if they look too tight or too high for my foot.

I've never been a big fan of the platform shoe, but somehow that was one of the details making this shoe attractive to me. It doesn't look too steep, and it's got a 12 cm, or 4.5" high heel. I've already started planning outfits to go with these shoes, and I really hope I don't have to return them. Can't wait to rock them in Paris this summer!

Come Winter, Come Snow

Air Code JacketI cannot believe that August 2011 is over! We've already entered September.. and with it comes fall. I miss summer already. The warmth, the blue skies, the light - and the happiness. The thing I dislike the most about this time of year is the cold weather. It means I can't leave the apartment without putting on several layers of clothing, and it's really not for me. I know, I know, I live in the wrong place. And don't bother leaving me comments trying to convince me that winter is a wooonderful time of year. Please. I have Asian blood in my veins, I'm not cut out for winter, let alone the Norse winter.

Now, having to look for a proper winter jacket - for those few times I actually have to go out during winter - is the perfect excuse to go shopping, right? I have a few requirements when shopping for jackets, and it's really not easy to find a light jacket that will also keep me warm on a cold day. I don't wanna look like a tiny bodybuilder, and I prefer to be able to move my arms while wearing it - the fun of having limited arm strength. I did however find a jacket! A leather jacket, which I thought was pretty cool. Since it's really troublesome to try on clothes in the store, and I knew I had to try it on before deciding, I ordered it online. And what do you know! In the size x-small it actually looked pretty good on me.

It's padded with fleece, which makes it really soft and cozy on the inside. Also it looks a lot cooler in real life than in this lousy picture, you'll just have to take my word for it. To make a long story short(er), I love my new winter jacket. I also have my heart set on a pair of shoes, or rather booties, for winter, but I don't have the funds to splurge on shoes right now. Hopefully they're still in stock next month.

La Gueuze, Confit de Canard

My dad always told me that I'd turn into a potato if I kept on scoffing them down like I did as a kid, but if that is the case I'm about to turn into a duck. Yep, you read correctly, a duck. Quack! I've found my favorite "restaurant" of all times, with the nicest staff ever, and I've fallen deeply in love with one of their dishes: preserved duck with sauteed potatoes. Oh Em Gee. La Gueuze is the name of the place, and if you're ever in Paris I recommend stopping by for a bit to eat, and maybe a beer - as they offer a nice selection.

Apart from dreaming about the 'Confit de Canard' of La Gueuze, I have to admit I've been shopping a little more. OK, maybe a lot. I decided to visit the local Sephora again, since I love Sephora, and naturally it got expensive. As usual. Well, at least I bought a new fragrance for my fiancé, which happened to be the most expensive item in my cart. In addition to my goodies, that is. The first three items on my list wasn't acquired during my Sephora Shopping Spree. Amira had bought a Chanel palette and a NARS Lip Lacquer for me before I traveled to Paris, but instead of sending it by mail she brought it to me when we first met - and I forgot to add it to the relevant post.

Let's see, what else? Oh! I wanted to look for a pair of jeans, as the ones I have are a bit tight around the waist, so I ventured into a clothing store close to the hotel. I started flipping through jeans, and I suddenly came across a pair of skinny ones with patches on the thighs. I instantly wanted it, I'm a sucker for special designs on jeans, and it felt really soft and nice. And I couldn't help but grin when I saw the price tag: €5. For a pair of jeans! And if that wasn't enough it was the last pair, and the size turned out to be a perfect fit. I also picked up a burgundy "varsity" jacket (with PU sleeves) and a black 'leather' skirt, which might just be too short for me - but it just looked amazingly cool. Did I mention how much I love the pair of jeans? I will definitely go back to see if I can find me another pair.

So today we were supposed to meet up with Amira again, but I couldn't seem to reach her. It was a bummer, so we went to back to Galeries Lafayette alone to kill some time. I also wanted to stop by Hard Rock Cafe to buy a t-shirt or.. four, two shot glasses and a keychain (a nice addition to my ever-growing collection). After buying my very first Dior Vernis nail polish I could not stop thinking about the limited edition "St. Tropez", which the sales woman was wearing when I was at Galeries Lafayette the first time. Yes, I noticed. I started looking for it online without any luck, found that it was sold out from the US Dior and so I wanted to go back to Galeries Lafayette to see if they might still have it - and they did! I was so happy when I found it that my heart actually started racing. A little pathetic, I know - but at least now it's mine.

I do realize that I write a lot about shopping, but none of us are overly interested in arts and culture, so our vacations consists of taking it easy, living life to the fullest, enjoying good food, and shopping. I've also had days where I've felt the need to stay close to the hotel, days where we haven't been doing much at all.

Entering the Pink Phase!

I don't shop for clothes very often, but some times I find something special that really catches my eye. Like these two items. The funny thing is that I hate the color pink. Cannot stand it. I know pink is a color that looks good on me, but I've spent most of my years as an adult trying my best to avoid owning anything pink. I think I own a few pairs of pink socks, a pink (and black) pajamas, possibly a pink long-sleeve and some pink makeup - oh, and I almost forgot my Clarisonic Mia of course, but that was to support a good cause. I can't think of anything else. But then I found these two jackets, and I had to have them both.

I'm not gonna start a discussion here, we're all entitled to have our own opinions, but I'm a little bit disappointed in the fact that the pink jacket is a non-leather jacket. I mean, I wish it was leather - but on the other hand it cost me 199,- NOK (about $33 with today's exchange rate) from Ellos, which is totally OK. I'm on the constant lookout for cropped jackets, my absolute favorite, since they're easy to put on, nice to wear and they don't end up in annoying folds behind my back. And out of six colors I picked.. yep, you guessed it: pink.

Then today I came across pictures posted on Facebook by Ragnaråkk of some of their newly arrived merchandise, and among them I found the Cupcake Cult hoodie. What can be better than a cool hoodie with both a voodoo bunny and a cupcake? I just hope it's as comfy as my Iron Fist hoodie. I e-mailed them immediately and asked them to hold it for me, so I'll be picking it up tomorrow. Awesome! I'm already picturing an outfit with the hoodie, the pink jacket and maybe my favorite Legsley Holes from Never Denim? Naturally topped off with some fierce makeup.

Yay! Grin
