Life is good and summery!

Burberry Summer 2011The last few days have been wonderful! Nothing special has happened, but the weather has been absolutely gorgeous, and when the weather is nice I automatically feel great both physically and mentally. I wish we could have summer all year around. I really do. I'm not built for Norwegian winters. OK, so.. when I become a millionaire, I'm moving to the Caribbeans.

Speaking of the Caribbeans, or not really, we went to the movies on Sunday to watch the newest "Fast & Furious" movie. Yep, I absolutely love the whole lot of them, and I'm not afraid to admit that Paul Walker has most of the blame. He's the one actor I've had a crush on for as long as I can remember. Remember my post for a Christmas a while back? No? Let me refresh your memory, take a look here. No, I still don't believe in Santa. Imagine that. It's been seven years, and I still have the hots for Paul Walker. I'm quite sure it's healthy to have a Hollywood crush. But let's return to the Caribbeans, if I manage to tear myself away from Mr. Walker for a second. We have tickets to see the new "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" when it premiers on May 18th! This is another movie series I'm a big fan of, and I might have a tiny little crush on Captain Jack Sparrow as well. The character, not Johnny Depp. I was a little bit bummed when I realized it was tickets for the 3D showing, but what the hell.. another thing to look forward to in the near future.

We've been at Trondheim Torg a couple of times this week, and today we walked there for the first time this year. I don't really like going there when I'm broke, I always find something I just have to have, which is a little distressing when I don't have the money for it! Now, since I found a little cash when I went through my wallet yesterday I purchased the new limited edition fragrance by Burberry called "Summer for Women" (notes: pomegranate, orange, green leaf, rose, freesia, lily, cedar wood, sandalwood, white musk) at Cubus. Why there? Because it was 51,- NOK cheaper there than at Esthetique. "Summer" is a light, fresh fragrance which takes be back in time, to a time when I was young, innocent and completely free of care. It makes me happy, and I love having the scent of it around me.

I've never really collected fragrances. I'm kinda picky and tend to stick with the ones I really like, but checking out the testers at Esthetique has become my new hobby. I smelled three different fragrances from Clean, didn't like any of them, hated the new scent from Escada, but ended up trying on the new Dior "Miss Dior Cherie" (notes: italian mandarin, egyptian jasmine, patchouli) just for fun. Oh, the Eau de Perfume, that is. Funny enough I didn't really like it at first. It felt a little too strong and overpowering for my liking, but somehow it grew on me. I accidentally sprayed a little on my scarf when I tested it, and I haven't been able to stop sniffing the spot where "Miss Dior Cherie" still is very much noticeable, several days later. I've decided to splurge on it, but not before I'm at a tax-free store or in Paris.

56 more days! Life is good, and I smell delicious! Grin

Look what Mr. Postman brought me yesterday! Øyvind's mother Else has knitted these gorgeous wristlets for me, and I simply love them. The pattern is very special, but unfortunately it doesn't really come out in picture. I'll try to take another one where I'm wearing them, maybe it's more visible when the wristlet is a little stretched. They fit my hands perfectly, and I adore the color. White and Ecru looks so good with my skin tone, they make me look a little more tanned than I usually am during winter. They are so gorgeous, and I know I'll be using them a lot even after Jack Frost has decided to leave us, to make room for the glorious spring.

A few weeks ago she also sent me a pair of leg warmers, which was something I had already asked my mom to knit for me as I actually needed a pair. Perfect coincidence, and I love them as well. They were knitted in black and white wool, in a pattern I haven't seen before. My mom used to be knitting a lot when I was a kid. We had several knitting machines which was used by just about everyone in the family, to design and make all kinds of knitted clothing. Very cool indeed. I even remember myself designing my very own patterns which mom used for making sweaters for me, and then I remember my dad washing (or rather boiling) them, shrinking them into clothing for my dolls instead - making my mom very angry in the process. I was devastated. Be sure, I've thoroughly taught Øyvind how to wash woolen items, so I'm hoping I don't have to experience that again.

Thank you so much, Else - for both the wristlets and the leg warmers! I really appreciate it, and you know I love anything that helps keeping me warm. Thank you for thinking of me! Heart

What gift is better than the one you put love and effort into making for someone else? None.

Tagged by Makeup Check!

As some of you might already know I'm not a very big fan of being tagged, but this tagged was a nice tag, so I decided to do it anyway. As Amira at Makeup Check! said in her own post, here's the deal:

"Post 10 things that make you happy, try to do at least one of them today, link back to the person who awarded you and pass along for up to ten people."

  • Having a great boyfriend like Øyvind, who's affectionate and loving no matter what
  • Having a caring family, a mom and dad who always cares for me
  • Having a gorgeous little dog who shows me that he loves me every second of the day
  • Having genuine and honest friends who's there for better and for worse
  • Waking up to sunshine
  • Shopping sprees
  • Getting packages in the mail, or mail in general
  • Makeup, especially from M·A·C and Urban Decay
  • Getting compliments on my writing, my makeup or anything I've accomplished myself
  • Mastering what I've set out to do

Please don't be mad, and feel free to ignore me, but here's the people that I choose to tag:
