Venjan’s Lille Hinkel Pinkel

Venjan's Lille Hinkel PinkelIt's been a hectic last couple of days, but it's nice to have a few of those every once in a while too. This Saturday we decided to take a three and a half hour drive to Kristiansund with the sole purpose of visiting Kennel Venjan.

After having had Lucas with us for a week this summer we saw and understood the importance of having two dogs as opposed to one. Their friendship was amazing to watch, as well as the sorrow when the two parted. After having discussed it over with a few experienced breeders we decided that now would be a good time to introduce another animal, a puppy, to our little pack and so our search began. It's important to take the time to find the right individual, so we wanted to look at several puppies before we made our final decision. In my opinion you should be able to take care of the animal you've chosen for as long as it lives, unless you have a good reason for giving it up. Personality was one of the most important qualities to us, and hopefully this will be a key to prevent any agitation between our two males later on.

One day I saw a photo of a gorgeous little white pup with one black ear, and even though I was quite sure he had already been promised to someone else I e-mailed the kennel to show my interest. Not only was it a long-haired male, but he was also of good lines - his father is Multi Ch Guichon's My Name Is No No Bad Boy and there are several other champions on both sides. My heart jumped when I found out he was still available! After some e-mailing back and forth we agreed upon a meeting, and not so long after we drove to see meet the breeder and their dogs. Theo connected with the oldest female (Hinkel Pinkel's grandma) almost immediately, and I really liked these people. Hinkel Pinkel instantly charmed me to my knees, and the way he tilted his head to the side whenever we talked to him just made me swoon. So cute!

So, come October 10th we're going to pick him up and bring him home to stay with us and Theo is finally getting his little brother. Thank you so much, Kennel Venjan, for trusting us with your little Hinkel Pinkel - we're really looking forward to getting to know him, and watch him turn into a handsome Chihuahua male!
