EOTD: “Winter’s Here”

EOTD: Winter's HereEyes:
Urban Decay Primer Potion
M·A·C Femme Fi (highlight)
M·A·C Electra (inner half)
M·A·C Deep Truth (outer half)
M·A·C Star by Night (outer third and crease)
M·A·C Carbon (outer corner)
M·A·C Feline Kohl Eye Pencil
Max Factor False Lash Effect

Brushes:
M·A·C #239, #224 and #219

What did I do?
First I used UDPP to prime the whole lid up to the brow. Then I patted Electra onto the inner half, and Deep Truth on the outer half of the lid with a #239 brush. I used Star by Night over Deep Truth to strengthen the color a little on the outer third of the lid. After wiping off my brush I used the same #239 to lightly pull the two colors towards one another, blending them together in the middle - decide how much of the lid you want to keep silvery, and blend according to that. Carbon is a color I rarely have the guts to pull out, but for this look I used it with a #219 pencil brush just to intensify the look in the outer corner, and smudged it a little bit along the lash line and slightly upwards in the crease. I then smudged whatever color left on the brush under the lower lash line. Blending time! With my #224 blending brush I blended out all the harsh lines, smoking it out a little. I didn't want it too smokey, but I see now that I could have pulled the color a little more out around the eye. I highlighted my brow bone with Femme Fi, and put a tad of the same shade in the corner of my eye. I actually prefer Vanilla as it's matte, but I completely forgot about it. I then finished it off by tightlining with my Feline eye pencil, which I absolutely love, and smudging it on about two thirds of the waterline. Then mascara, and voila!.. the new look was all done.

Sadly the photo ain't doing it any justice, and it looks a lot better in real life. At least I've proven to myself that no eyeshadows are dangerous, not even Carbon, and if I take my time I can handle anything. Too bad I'm so incredibly impatient then, huh? I really, really like this look, and I should be wearing blues more often. I've found the perfect look for my blue dress, and if I don't have an instant change of heart, this will be my look for Christmas Eve.

Picture was taken indoors in artificial lighting.

Smile

  5. okei, ja smoke and mirrors og devil may dare høres interessant ut…. jeg kjøpte nesten sist jeg var ute og reiste, men endte opp med 5 løse øyenskygger til palettene mine istedet…
